Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 3/4 c. cake flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix vanilla, sugar, water and egg yolks for a long time.
  2. Then sift flour and baking powder.
  3. Beat this on high speed.
  4. Add a little at a time until all is in.
  5. Then beat egg whites until stiff and fold in mixture.
  6. Bake at 300°.
  7. Makes two layer pans.
