Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) yellow cake layer
  • 1 (3 1/2 oz.) package Jell-O vanilla flavor instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 1 1/2 cups Cool Whip nondairy whipped topping, thawed

Instructions

  1. Split the cake layer into two separate layers.
  2. Prepare the pudding as directed, using 1 cup of milk instead of the usual amount.
  3. Fold the thawed Cool Whip into the prepared pudding to create a light filling.
  4. Spread the pudding mixture onto the bottom cake layer.
  5. Place the remaining cake layer on top to form a sandwich.
  6. Spread hot fudge topping over the top layer.
  7. Chill the assembled cake before serving.
