Ingredients

  • 1/4 glass or more ginger ale
  • 2 tsp. to 1/2 bottle ketchup
  • onions (optional)
  • 1/2 to 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • average size brisket (about 5 or 6 lb.)

Instructions

  1. Place foil on bottom of large roasting pan, big enough to cover all the meat.
  2. Pour ingredients over meat, then wrap. Cook in oven about 3 hours at 350°.
  3. Cool; skim off fat.
  4. Slice meat and return to oven for another hour.
  5. Meat should be soft. More soda and ketchup can be added for last hour if desired.
