Butter Oat Crisps

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1-1/2 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Or Almond Extract

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Stir in flour, rolled oats and extract until well blended.
  3. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Butter the bottom of a wide, flat-bottomed glass, dip it in sugar and press the cookie dough flat. Bake at 375 degrees until lightly browned around the edges, about 8 - 10 minutes. Cool slightly on the cookie sheet, then transfer to racks. Dust with powdered sugar.
  4. This makes about 24 cookies.
  5. Note: this is a good beginner recipe to teach your children or grandchildren how to bake!
