- Slice the tomatoes and onions and put in layers.
- Sprinkle on the salt and let remain overnight. Rinse well. Chop fine.
- Put in kettle and cover with vinegar.
- Add the sugar, cloves, cinnamon and allspice.
- Stew slowly for about 1 hour.
- Bottle while hot.
