- Beat butter with a mixer until foamy like cream. (Do not use margarine.) Sift dry ingredients into butter a small amount at a time. Beat well after each addition. Add vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until slightly golden at 300°. Do not overbake.
