Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups Kix cereal

Instructions

  1. Heat margarine in a heavy 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat until melted.
  2. Stir in sugar. Stir frequently with a wooden spoon for 4 to 5 minutes until the mixture melts and begins to turn golden.
  3. Continue cooking for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture is light golden and no longer granular.
  4. Remove from heat. Quickly add cereal and mix until cereal is completely coated.
  5. Immediately spread the mixture on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Cool completely; break into bite-sized pieces.
  7. Store in an airtight container.
