Chunky Pecan Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. maple flavoring
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 to 1 1/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan; mix well.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Reduce heat to low and cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Let cool; store in an airtight container in refrigerator.
  5. Serve warm or at room temperature over ice cream or pancakes.
  6. Yields 1 1/2 cups.
