  3. Add margarine and cinnamon candies.
  4. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
  5. Stir in liquid pectin.
  6. Return to the rolling boil, stirring constantly, and boil for 1 minute.

Tips & Substitutions

For a smoother texture, ensure the cinnamon candies dissolve completely before adding the pectin. You can substitute apple juice with white grape juice for a milder flavor. If you prefer a less sweet jelly, reduce the sugar by a cup, but adjust the pectin accordingly to maintain consistency. Keep an eye on the boiling process to prevent burning, especially when using a heavy pot.

Serving Suggestions

Cinnamon Candy Jelly is delightful spread on toast or pancakes, adding a spicy sweetness to your breakfast. It pairs beautifully with Canned Peaches for a refreshing dessert. For a fun twist, serve it alongside a cheese platter to complement sharp cheeses, or incorporate it into a glaze for roasted meats.

Storage & Reheating

Store the sealed jars in a cool, dark place for up to a year. Once opened, refrigerate the jelly and consume it within three weeks. To reheat, simply scoop out the desired amount and warm it gently in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until it reaches your preferred consistency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different type of juice for this recipe?

Yes, you can substitute apple juice with other juices like pear or cherry for a different flavor profile. Just ensure you maintain the same liquid volume for the best results.

What if my jelly doesn't set properly?

If your jelly doesn't set, it may be due to insufficient boiling time or not enough pectin. You can try reheating it with additional pectin, following the package instructions, to achieve the desired consistency.

How can I make this recipe vegan?

To make this recipe vegan, simply substitute the margarine with a plant-based alternative or omit it entirely, as it serves primarily to reduce foaming. The jelly will still set beautifully without it.
