Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 cinnamon stick or pinch of ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, water, light corn syrup, and cinnamon in a 1-quart saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, shaking the pan gently until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Continue boiling without stirring until the syrup is thick and syrupy, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Discard the cinnamon stick if used.
  5. Store the syrup in a jar with a screw top and refrigerate.
  6. Shake well before using or warm in the microwave before serving.
