Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • dash of salt
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. fruit

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Melt stick of butter in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup of sugar, flour, baking powder and salt (sift).
  4. Pour milk over dry ingredients; stir.
  5. Pour batter over melted butter.
  6. Do not stir!
  7. In another bowl, mix fruit and 1/2 cup of sugar.
  8. Pour this over batter; do not stir. Bake until golden brown.
