Crockpot Red Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 pound red kidney beans red
  • 1 1/2 cup rice
  • 16 ounces tomatoes stewed
  • 1 each ham hock
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 each onions chopped
  • 2 each garlic cloves or 1/4 ts garlic powder
  • 1 x white pepper to taste
  • 1 x salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Put the everything in the crockpot at the same time, except for the rice.
  2. Turn on high for 4 hours, then on low for 6 hours.
  3. During the last 1 1/2 hours, put in the rice.
  4. The final ingredient is about 1/2 cup of white wine.
  5. You can add this whenever.
  6. It is optional, of course.
  7. If you like it spicy add 18 teaspoon red pepper.
