- In a large bowl, with pastry blender or two knives used in a scissor-like fashion, cut butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle on cold water, a tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with a fork after each addition, until pastry holds together.
- Divide dough in half, shape each into a flat ball.
- Wrap each in plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour or longer.
