Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Betty Crocker chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 21 oz cherry pie filling
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Use solid shortening to grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Combine the Betty Crocker chocolate fudge cake mix, cherry pie filling, almond extract, and beaten eggs by hand until well blended.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  7. Optional: Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the cake or serve with whipped cream.
