Ingredients

  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 7 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, salt, dry yeast, water, and eggs in a bowl; mix 2 minutes on low speed of electric mixer and set aside.
  2. Combine flour with remaining sugar in a large mixing bowl; mix 3 minutes with electric mixer at medium speed.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture and mix well at medium speed.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until it has doubled in bulk.
  5. Punch the dough down, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Shape the dough into desired rolls and brush with melted butter.
  7. Let the shaped rolls rise in a warm place (85°F), free from drafts, about 2 hours, or until doubled in bulk.
  8. Bake at 400°F until golden brown.
