Downhome Salsa
Ingredients
- 5-10 tomatoes (depending on size) ⓘ
- 3 bell peppers (I like using different colors) ⓘ
- 1 large red onion
- 2-3 jalapeno peppers (or 1 small habanero) ⓘ
- 1 bunch cilantro (leaves removed and stems discarded) ⓘ
- 3 tbsp. lime juice
- 3 tbsp. lemon juice ⓘ
- Large pinch of garlic salt and pepper to taste ⓘ
- Pinch of sumac ⓘ
Instructions
- Char tomatoes and peppers (optional)
- Dice tomatoes, onion, and peppers (you can do this in the cuisinart but I prefer to hand chop)
- Roughly chop the cilantro
- Combine chopped ingredients in a bowl and squeeze the lemon and lime juice over the top
- Add the garlic salt, pepper, and sumac and mix all ingredients together
- Serve with freshly made tortilla chips.
