Festive Apples

Ingredients

  • 6 large Golden Delicious apples
  • brown sugar
  • tab of butter
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Peel, core and cut in half the apples.
  2. Place in baking dish. Spray with Pam.
  3. Fill each cavity with brown sugar and a tab of butter.
  4. Sprinkle lightly over all.
  5. Add a little water.
  6. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
  7. Transfer apples to serving platter; reserve all juices and pour into saucepan.
  8. Mix cornstarch with a little water and add to saucepan, stirring until creamy smooth over medium heat.
  9. Add a touch of red food coloring and mix well. Pour over apples and refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
