Foolproof Baking Powder Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. unsalted butter
  • 2/3 c. milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in milk; knead lightly.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°.
  5. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.
  6. With hands, pat to 1/2-inch thick rectangle or roll with lightly floured rolling pin.
  7. Cut into 16 squares.
  8. Place on baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 12 minutes, or until browned.
