Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups prepared peaches
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 5 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Peel and pit peaches.
  2. Grind or finely chop the fruit.
  3. Measure 2 1/4 cups of prepared peaches into a large bowl.
  4. Add lemon juice and sugar; let sit for 20 minutes.
  5. Mix 3/4 cup water and Sure-Jell in a small saucepan.
  6. Bring to a full boil and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  7. Immediately stir the hot mixture into the fruit.
  8. Continue stirring for 3 minutes.
  9. Ladle the preserves into containers.
  10. Cover with lids and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours.
  11. Store in freezer or refrigerate in small portions for up to 3 weeks.
