A refreshing frozen cantaloupe treat infused with sweet syrup, perfect for hot days or as a cool dessert for gatherings, highlighting the fruit's natural flavor with a sweet twist.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white Karo syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Heat water with sugar and white Karo syrup until the sugar is thoroughly melted but do not boil.
  2. Let the syrup mixture get very cold.
  3. Cube the firm cantaloupe and pour the cold syrup over it.
  4. Crumple waxed paper and place on top of the melon and syrup to hold the melon down in the syrup.
  5. Put the container with the melon and syrup on the lid and seal tightly.
  6. This makes enough for 5 cups.
  7. Use 2/3 cup of the mixture in each container for freezing.
