Ingredients

  • 1 lb. dried navy beans
  • 1 bouquet garni
  • 12 whole cloves garlic, peeled
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 c. dry white wine
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Place beans in a bowl and cover completely with water.
  2. Soak for 12 hours.
  3. Drain beans and transfer to an ovenproof casserole.
  4. Cover beans with fresh water.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Add bouquet garni and cook over medium heat for 1 1/2 hours, uncovered.
