Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3-1/2 ounces coconut (1-1/3 cups)
  • 1 cup pecans -- chopped

Instructions

  1. In medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, egg yolks, and shortening. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, coconut and pecans.
  2. Cool 15 minutes. Spread on cake or brownies.
