Glorified Pickles

Ingredients

  • 1 gal. pickles or small cucumbers
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 3 c. apple vinegar (dark)
  • 4 Tbsp. pickling salt

Instructions

  1. Slice pickles or cucumbers, peppers and onions.
  2. Mix in gallon or large container. In pan, mix sugar, vinegar and pickling salt.
  3. Heat until hot, about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour mix over pickles; mix well. Let set for 10 minutes.
  5. Put in containers. Cover and refrigerate.
  6. Will keep in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 months.
  7. Very crisp.
