Golden Cheese Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. liquid Carnation nonfat dry milk
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in water.
  2. Stir in sugar, liquid nonfat milk, butter and salt.
  3. Stir in 3 1/4 cups flour.
  4. Knead on floured board until smooth and elastic.
  5. Work in additional flour, about 8 minutes.
  6. Place in buttered bowl; brush with butter.
  7. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled.
  8. Punch down.
