Instructions
- Dissolve compressed yeast in lukewarm water.
- Combine sugar, salt, shortening and scalded milk.
- Cool to lukewarm by adding cold water.
- Blend in egg and yeast.
- Add flour; mix until blended.
- Place in bowl (cover).
- Let rise in warm place 45 to 50 minutes.
