Instructions
- Soften yeast with 1/4 cup lukewarm water; add remaining water. Add sugar and shortening.
- Add 1 cup flour; beat well.
- Add yeast and egg whites; mix through.
- Add remaining flour and salt to make soft dough.
- Rise once; punch down and let rise again.
- Brush with egg yolk diluted with water.
- Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
