Ingredients

  • 6 c. crushed huckleberries
  • 1 pkg. powdered pectin
  • 8 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Place crushed huckleberries in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Add powdered pectin to the berries and stir well.
  3. Bring the mixture back to a boil and add sugar all at once.
  4. Stir constantly and bring to a full rolling boil.
  5. Cook for 1-2 minutes after boiling begins.
  6. Remove from heat and skim off any foam.
  7. Ladle hot jam into nine sterilized half-pint jars.
  8. Seal the jars and process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes to ensure proper sealing.
