Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. frozen huckleberries, thawed with juice
  • 3 Tbsp. sherry

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and freshly grated nutmeg in a saucepan.
  2. Stir in water and cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until thick and bubbly.
  3. Stir in thawed huckleberries with juice and sherry.
  4. Bring to a boil again, then remove from heat and cool slightly.
  5. Serve over pancakes or waffles.
