Tips & Substitutions

For a more intense flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice mix. If you're using beef, choose a lean cut like sirloin or round to reduce fat content. If you prefer a sweeter jerky, incorporate a tablespoon of brown sugar into the marinade. Always ensure meat is cut uniformly for even drying.

Serving Suggestions

Serve Jason's Jerky as a protein-packed snack on a hiking trip or alongside a charcuterie board. It pairs beautifully with cheese and crackers or can be enjoyed with a side of Church Supper Slaw Dressing for a refreshing contrast. This jerky can also be a great topping for salads or used in sandwiches for an added flavor kick.

Storage & Reheating

Once fully dried, store the jerky in an airtight container or vacuum-sealed bag in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, it can be frozen for up to 6 months. When ready to enjoy, there’s no need to reheat; simply enjoy it as a tasty snack straight from the fridge.
