Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. sugar (3 Tbsp.)
  • 1/4 c. salt (1 Tbsp.)
  • 1 qt. vinegar (1 c.)
  • 3 qt. water (3 c.)
  • red chili peppers
  • dill
  • 1 ball garlic
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Simmer sugar, salt, vinegar and water together; cool.
  2. Wash and dry enough cukes to fill a gallon jar.
  3. Arrange with layers of cukes, dill, garlic and hot peppers until jar is full.
  4. Pour cooled juice over and refrigerate.
  5. Good to eat in about 1 week.
