Ingredients

  • 1 (6 lb.) precooked ham
  • 12 whole peppercorns
  • 1 to 2 toes garlic, minced
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. Franks red hot sauce (not Tabasco)
  • 1 to 2 c. red wine, rose or Burgundy
  • 1 to 4 c. water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • whole cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
  2. to
  3. 325°.
  4. Score and dot ham with cloves. Put all ingredients
  5. in a mixing bowl and mix. Pour over ham. Bake in covered
  6. roasting pan for 2 hours. After 2 hours, add mixture of 1 pound of brown sugar and 1 large jar of horseradish mustard. This
  7. is
  8. the
  9. glaze.
  10. Pour
  11. over
  12. ham and cook, uncovered, for 1/2
  13. to
  14. 1 hour.
  15. Baste every 15 minutes.
  16. Use liquid as gravy. May want to thicken with cornstarch.
