Mayhaw Stromboli

Ingredients

  • 1 c. mayhaw jelly
  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1 (16 oz.) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1/4 lb. thinly sliced ham
  • 1 tsp. cornmeal

Instructions

  1. Mix together mayhaw jelly, mayonnaise and mustard until smooth.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter.
  4. Place dough on lightly greased baking sheet; pat into 15 x 10-inch rectangle.
  5. Arrange ham and onion lengthwise down center.
  6. Drizzle half of sauce over ham. Moisten all edges of dough with water. Bring each long edge of dough to center; press edges together securely to seal.
  7. Seal ends.
  8. Brush dough with 1 tablespoon butter.
  9. Sprinkle with cornmeal and invert.
  10. Brush top with remaining butter.
  11. Bake at 375° for 20 to 28 minutes.
  12. Serve remaining sauce on sides.
  13. Yields 4 servings.
