- Making the Kadaife
- Butter a 9x12 bakin dish, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Divide dough in half and add 1/2 the butter and mix it in with the fingers until the dough has taken in the butter.Do this to both halves.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar.
- Lay half of the dough on the baking dish, add the cinnamon /walnut mixture and cover with the rest of the dough.
- Bake for about 40-50 minutes until dough has a golden color.
- While it bakes, prepare the syrup.
- As soon as it is out, drizzle a bit of the syrup, cover for 1/2 hour until softened by the steam; remove cover, cut in square and let cool off complete.
- Making the Syrup
- Bring to boil sugar and water for about 6 minutes, add lemon juice. Let cool.
- (it should be a very light syrup not a caramel)
