Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°.
  2. Grease and flour 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  3. In large mixer bowl, mix shortening, 1 3/4 cups sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy.
  4. Beat, scraping bowl occasionally.
  5. Mix in flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk.
  6. Pour into pan.
  7. Sprinkle with mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool.
