Kolaches(Easy Does It)

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. In small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon sugar.
  3. Let stand.
  4. Scald milk in saucepan.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
  6. Cool to lukewarm.
  7. Add salt and egg yolks.
  8. Combine milk mixture and yeast in a large bowl.
  9. Add flour in small amounts to milk mixture until all flour has been used.
  10. Knead dough on lightly floured board until glossy. Place in bowl; cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  11. Punch down.
  12. Shape into ball, about 3-inches. Press on greased cookie sheet.
  13. Bake at 350° until brown, about 15 minutes.
