- Peel cucumbers; slice and seed them.
- Use 7 1/2 pounds cucumber sticks.
- Mix lime and water; pour over cucumbers.
- Let stand cold for 24 hours.
- Rinse 3 different times.
- Cool waters; let stand in ice for 3 hours.
- Pour off; drain real good.
- Mix vinegar, sugar and pickling spice.
- Heat until dissolved.
- Let get cold; pour over pickles.
- Let stand cold 12 hours.
- Put on stove; boil hard for 30 minutes.
- While cooking, add turmeric and food coloring.
- Pack tight in jars and seal.
- Makes 10 pints.
