Ingredients

  • 2 sticks white kanten
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups koshian or 1 (1 lb.) can tsubushian
  • 1 cup Macadamia nuts

Instructions

  1. Tear the kanten into pieces and soak in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Cook until the kanten is dissolved.
  3. Add sugar and salt; stir until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Add koshian or tsubushian; cook over medium flame until the mixture comes to a boil.
  5. Add the macadamia nuts.
  6. Pour the mixture into an 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
  7. Cool and set before serving.
