Maple Cream Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 c. maple syrup
  • 2 tsp. butter or butter substitute
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2/3 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Boil syrup and salt to soft ball stage (234° to 238°).
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Cool to room temperature.
  4. Add butter.
  5. Add flavoring. Beat until creamy.
  6. Add 1/2 the nuts.
  7. Continue beating until mixture is sufficiently firm to mold into small balls.
  8. Roll balls in remainder of nuts.
  9. Place on waxed paper to harden.
