Maple Flavored Fudge

Ingredients

  • 6 c. sugar
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 2 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1 (14 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 2 tsp. maple flavoring
  • 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 1/2 c. coconut
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, milk and maple flavoring in large, heavy saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring often.
  3. Add nuts and coconut; increase heat.
  4. Cook to soft ball stage, stirring constantly.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Cool to lukewarm.
  7. Beat until mixture loses its gloss.
  8. Pour into buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.
