Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water (not hot!)
  • 3/4 c. sweet milk
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. plain flour or enough to make a sticky dough

Instructions

  1. Combine yeast in warm water; set aside.
  2. Put sweet milk, shortening, sugar and salt in a pot.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Set in sink of cold water until cool.
  6. Add 2 beaten eggs, yeast mixture and flour.
