Instructions
- Wash cucumbers.
- Place in a large bowl.
- Cover with boiling water.
- Cover.
- Repeat this process every day for 3 days.
- Let stand on the fourth day.
- On the fifth day, slice cucumbers and put back in bowl.
- Combine sugar, spices, salt and vinegar. Bring to a boil.
- Pour over sliced cucumbers.
- Let stand 2 days.
- Drain off liquid.
- Bring liquid mixture to a boil.
- Pour over pickles which have been put in sterilized jars.
- Place on sterilized lids and seal.
- Makes 6 half pint jars.
