  1. Peel 4 or 6 medium potatoes.
  2. Cut the potatoes into 1-inch cubes or slice them thin.
  3. Add 1/2 inch water to the bottom of a small or large covered microwave-safe bowl.
  4. Place the prepared potatoes in the bowl.
  5. Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap.
  6. Microwave 4 medium potatoes for 8 to 10 minutes on High, or 6 medium potatoes for 12 to 14 minutes on High.
  7. Stir the potatoes halfway through cooking.
