Mildred Evans' Pound Cake

- Cream butter until fluffy.
- Add sugar and mix well.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
- Add flavoring.
- Combine sifted cake flour and salt in another bowl and gradually add small amounts to the butter mixture.
- Alternate with the milk until all is mixed.
- Pour into a greased and floured 4 x 16-inch loaf pan. Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
- Cool 5 to 6 minutes and remove from the pan to cooling rack.
