Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Add all-purpose flour until the mixture thickens and becomes doughy.
  4. Pull back the sides of the dough and grease the bowl with shortening.
  5. Let the dough rise in the bowl until it doubles in size.
  6. Dip fingers in cooking oil and shape the dough into rolls.
  7. Place the rolls in a pan and let rise again.
  8. Bake at 400°F until the rolls are golden brown.
