New England Cham Chowder

Ingredients

  • 1 pt. clams
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. clam juice and water
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/2 c. chopped bacon or salt pork
  • 1 c. diced potatoes
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. canned milk

Instructions

  1. Drain clams; save the juice, then chop clams.
  2. Fry bacon until lightly browned.
  3. Add onion; cook until tender.
  4. Add juice, potatoes, seasonings and clams.
  5. Cook for about 15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  6. Add milk; heat.
  7. Serves 6.
