- Mix sugar and cream, then scald and cool.
- Blend all ingredients and add sufficient flour to knead until quite firm.
- Let the dough rise until doubled in bulk, then knead again.
- Allow the dough to rise again.
- On a floured board, flatten the dough to 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut 1/2-inch strips 6 inches long, then roll each strip between hands to form a rope shape and shape into a figure 8.
- Dip one side of each piece in melted butter, then in sugar, and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet with sugar side up.
- Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes.
