One Egg Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • flour (to thicken)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Mix lard, egg, sugar and milk until relatively smooth; add flour to thicken to cakelike batter.
  3. Pour into a greased cast-iron skillet or baking pan.
  4. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until done by toothpick test.
  5. Serve with strawberries and whipped cream or hot chocolate sauce.
