Open Crock Pickles

- Boil together the water, vinegar, pickling salt, alum, and pickling spice.
- Put dill at the bottom, in between, and on top of a 5-quart ice cream pail.
- Pour the hot brine over the dill-filled container.
- Let the pickles sit for a few days before eating.
