A vibrant orange salad with tangy gelatin, mandarin oranges, and creamy sherbet, perfect for refreshing desserts or elegant salads suitable for family gatherings or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages orange gelatin (3 oz. each)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 can mandarin oranges
  • 1 pint orange sherbet
  • whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the orange gelatin in boiling water.
  2. Add the juice from the canned mandarin oranges and stir well.
  3. Mix in the orange sherbet and blend with a mixer until the sherbet is dissolved.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture until it is partially set.
  5. Add the drained mandarin orange segments to the gelatin mixture.
  6. Pour into a ring mold or a 9 x 11-inch pan.
  7. Refrigerate until fully set.
  8. Serve as a salad in the mold or cut into squares and top with whipped cream as a dessert.
