Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. butter

Instructions

  1. Mix the first 3 ingredients like pie crust.
  2. Pat into cookie sheet (ungreased) in 2 strips, 3 inches wide and as long as the sheet.
  3. Put water in saucepan with butter.
  4. Heat to boiling point. Remove from heat and add flour, all at once; immediately stir until smooth (using wooden spoon).
  5. Stir in 1 egg at a time and beat well after each addition; add flavoring and spread on top of first mixture.
  6. Bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes.
